We're urgently looking for volunteers

The numbers we've been seeing daily within Kingston's unhoused community are growing fast, and we need your help. You don't need experience or any formal training. You just need to be reliable about whatever you take on.

What we're looking for

  • Shift Leads

    Runs a day and oversees operations. More on this role below.

  • Cooks

    No formal training required.

  • Servers

    Come to Belle Park, help hand out food, and be a friendly face for the people we're feeding. Servers usually make and bring the juice or water too, in the big thermoses we provide, so a car helps a lot.

  • Drivers

    Food gets made in one place and eaten in another. A car and a spare hour solves the biggest headache we've got.

  • Bulk food donations

    Ingredients, insulated delivery bags, and something to drink: juice in summer, hot chocolate in winter, water all year.

What a Shift Lead does

Each Lead runs a day, based on their own availability, and is responsible for overseeing operations that day. Every volunteer has access to our scheduling system where they can sign up for the day and role they're committing to. The Lead makes sure there's a cook, plus servers, drinks, and everything else the service needs. We need a minimum of four team members per service.

The other roles, in plain terms

  • Cook a batch

    Make a big pot of something hot and filling. We can share recipes that scale to 100 servings, and tell you what's needed right now.

  • Serve

    Come to Belle Park, help hand out food, and be a friendly face for the people we're feeding.

  • Drive

    Food gets made in one place and eaten in another. A car and a spare hour solves the biggest headache we've got.

  • Donate supplies

    Bulk ingredients, insulated delivery bags, and drinks: juice in summer, hot chocolate in winter, water all year. All of it gets used.

  • Run a restaurant or café?

    Good food you'd throw out at close? We'll pick it up, serve it next day or freeze it, and shout you out on our socials.
