We're urgently looking for volunteers

The numbers we've been seeing daily within Kingston's unhoused community are growing fast, and we need your help. You don't need experience or any formal training. You just need to be reliable about whatever you take on.

What we're looking for

  • Shift Leads

    Runs a day and oversees operations. More on this role below.

  • Cooks

    No formal training required.

  • Servers

    Come to Belle Park, help hand out food, and be a friendly face for the people we're feeding.

  • Drivers

    Food gets made in one place and eaten in another. A car and a spare hour solves the biggest headache we've got.

  • Bulk food donations

    Ingredients, containers, insulated delivery bags, coffee.

What a Shift Lead does

Each Lead runs a day, based on their own availability, and is responsible for overseeing operations that day. Every volunteer has access to our scheduling system where they can sign up for the day and role they're committing to. The Lead makes sure there's a cook, plus servers, drinks, and everything else the service needs. We need a minimum of four team members per service.

The other roles, in plain terms

Cook a batch. Make a big pot of something hot and filling. We can share recipes that scale up to 65, 80, even 100 servings, and tell you what's needed right now.

Serve. Come to Belle Park, help hand out food, and be a friendly face for the people we're feeding.

Drive. Food gets made in one place and eaten in another. A car and a spare hour solves the biggest headache we've got.

Run a restaurant, café, or shop? If you have good food you'd otherwise throw out at the end of the day, we can take it — we'll serve it the next day or freeze it for a future service. Our volunteers will coordinate pickup times that work for you, and we'd love to shout you out on our socials (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
